Cleaning House

November 22, 2011

So, I inadvertently did a boo boo.

I posted my reviews on my site but I had previously given said reviews to a review website and they had published them. Mind you, this was many moons ago. I was just notified that I can’t put my reviews that I wrote on my site but I can provide a link to the ones that appear on their site (edited or not) that I had submitted to them.

So I’ll be doing a little cleaning here.

With the massive amount of traveling I’ll be doing, it may be a tiny bit before another of my reviews gets posted in full here.

In the meantime, do link to my reviews. They are what I wrote. It’s just that you’ll have to go an extra step to see the old ones now.

And to easy the process ………….

It’s Time To Clean House A Bit

I’ll Be Grinding Away Whenever I Can To Get It All Finished

How to Tame a Cougar By Dee Carney

How to Tame a Cougar

By  Dee Carney

Siren-Bookstrand, Inc.

Blurb:

Shawna never tried to deny the attraction to her young Greek coworker, Damian. Intensely handsome with a heavy accent, he is the object of her fantasies. It’s no wonder when he mistakenly overhears her call his name while masturbating, he decides it’s time to ignore the age difference she shies away from.

Getting her to fall for his seduction takes on a slight challenge when they realize their age difference is even bigger than they both first assumed. It’s not going to be a problem, though. So long as she keeps that spark in her eyes when she looks at him, he knows just how to tame a cougar.

Review:

How to Tame a Cougar is not your typical May/December story. Ms. Carney is a true wizard of the written word, weaving a tale that has me feeling the characters dreams and emotions and then laughing until my sides hurt.

Past Imperfect By J.M. Cornwell

Past Imperfect

By  J.M. Cornwell

L & L Dreamspell Publishing

Blurb:

Devastated by love and nearly killed in a car crash, Lynn Sanderson disappeared, returning five years later with a new name, a new face, and a plan…
Adrian Cahill didn’t realize his ideal woman, his soul mate, was right in front of him, so Lynn walked away from their stagnant relationship.

She had no idea she’d soon be involved in a near-fatal crash that would change her appearance and leave her haunted with nightmares of accidents and death. No longer the same person, Lynn took on another girl’s name and carved out a new identity.

While recuperating from reconstructive surgery, she bought a run-down cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania. With the help of local handyman John Logan she brought the structure back to life, turning it into a wonderful retreat. He also helped her remodel an abandoned factory near Bolton air field in Columbus, Ohio. Over the years the two became close friends, though Logan remained a mystery, never revealing much about his personal life or his past.

After five years and in her new incarnation as Diana, Lynn made up her mind to go back for the man who rejected her, and goad him into chasing her until she catches him. Could she create a new ending for an imperfect past?

And how will Logan, her mysterious mountain man, feel about losing his best friend?

***

Sir Walter Scott said it best in Marmion, Canto VI, Stanza 17, “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” And what a tangled story I found Past Imperfect to be. There are stories and lives that are intertwined from beginning to end.

Lynn Sanderson/Diana Palmer struck me as a very tragic heroine. To expect something from your significant other only to realize that they don’t even notice who you are followed by a horrific accident. Then what she had to do to overcome her injuries had me pulling for her to make it. But there were times I was yelling in my head for Lynn/Diana to open her eyes and see what was in front of her face. I bothered me a lot that Lynn/Diana was so single minded on recapturing the past. I could understand if she was out for revenge but I felt that she was doing it for a twisted type of love she had for Adrian.

Winner Takes All By Sofia Hunt

Winner Takes All  By  Sofia Hunt

Siren-Bookstrand, Inc.

Blurb:

Being bad always gets more press than being good.

Women’s pro basketball star, Taryn Belle scores baskets on the court and conquests off the court. Her reputation as the baddest of bad girls garners major publicity for women’s sports. Cody Brickman, a hotshot quarterback with a wild streak, falls prey to one of Taryn’s promotion schemes, and she falls prey to a night in his bed.

Cody suspects her bad girl image is an elaborate ruse fueled by a string of carefully crafted publicity stunts, especially after she publicly slams his sexual prowess. He backs Taryn into a corner until the only way out is to play the part she’s created by showing Cody how bad she can be. Jerome, Taryn’s long-time admirer and Cody’s teammate, will take Taryn any way he can get her, even if it means sharing.

How far will a girl go to publicize the sport she loves and maintain her bad girl reputation in a game where the winner takes all?

Inequality of the sexes in sports, salaries and publicity is not what I would think would be material for a romance story but I am wrong. I have to warn you that Winner Takes All is a very hot, very steamy, and extremely sexy story when all those things are combined..

Taryn Belle is a six foot one female basketball player. When I think of sports stars, most are pretty clean cut. Not so our Taryn. She is the epitome of the “bad boy” image.  She’s been on the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, posed for Playboy magazine and been fodder for all the rags. Little does anyone know that this is the way she raises money for her charities since female salaries are significantly lower than male salaries. Taryn unfortunately picks on the male “bad boy” of basketball to pull her next money raising stunt.

Christmas Smiles

December 12, 2010

Tree up? Nope. Cards sent? Nope. Turkey bought? Nope. Presents bought and wrapped? Nope.

Christmas is coming and I’m not ready.

It’s not for lack of trying. I just arrived home at 12:30am this morning. I’ve been away for many weeks and and still have huge messes to straighten out but I just go with my old stand-by… I’ll do it tomorrow… and I do mean it.

But for today, I thought I’d give everyone a little bit of seasonal eye candy.

Santa’s back. Ho Ho Ho.

A little present for you.

Mistletoe for your home.

And lots of good cheer.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Win a copy of A Wolf Signs by Vivian Arend!

Wolf Signs

Robyn Maxwell doesn’t care that her brother has to cancel out on their backcountry ski trip. She can do it alone. The fact she’s deaf doesn’t make her survival skills any weaker. The chance to get away from it all and relax in the Yukon wilderness is just what she’s been craving.

Meeting wilderness guide Keil at the cabin starts cravings of another kind. Keil’s one hot hunk of ripped, tasty male. Now she has to deal with raging hormones as well as strange questions about wolves and mates and challenges to the death.

Keil was trying for a nice reflective retreat before challenging for the Alpha position of his Alaskan pack. He wasn’t planning on meeting the woman destined to be his mate, or finding out she’s not aware she has the genes of a wolf.

Between dealing with his accident-prone younger brother, a deaf mate with an attitude and an impending duel to the death, his week—and his bed—is suddenly full.

Far from the relaxing getaway any of them had in mind…

Leave a comment for a chance to win a digital copy of Wolf Signs!

Good Guys Deserve Bad Girls by AP Miller

Good Guys Deserve Bad Girls by AP Miller

Noble Romance Publishing

You know what “they” say . . . . There are girls you don’t take home to mother. There are girls you don’t date on a serious basis. There are girls that are fun to be around, but that you never, ever consider for marriage. They’re not nice girls. They’re bad girls . . . and you should never fall in love with a bad girl.

Or so they say.

But if all that’s true, then what is it about bad girls that make good guys want them so very . . . badly?

Andrew is definitely a nice guy. He’s a hard-working, decent Christian fellow. Good with his hands, honest, honorable, and does the right thing by his family and his church.

Pathrusim is definitely a bad girl. About as unchristian as you can get, what with her being a demoness, straight from the pits of hell itself. She wants to wrap Andrew around her little finger, and enslave him for all eternity.

But what is it about Andrew that draws her to him? If she’s such a bad girl, why does she want so badly to have a . . . nice guy?”

What do Bible verses, a guardian angel, a demon and Aunt Jemima have in common? I found out in this unique story about a succubus and a virgin.
