So, I inadvertently did a boo boo.

I posted my reviews on my site but I had previously given said reviews to a review website and they had published them. Mind you, this was many moons ago. I was just notified that I can’t put my reviews that I wrote on my site but I can provide a link to the ones that appear on their site (edited or not) that I had submitted to them.

So I’ll be doing a little cleaning here.

With the massive amount of traveling I’ll be doing, it may be a tiny bit before another of my reviews gets posted in full here.

In the meantime, do link to my reviews. They are what I wrote. It’s just that you’ll have to go an extra step to see the old ones now.

And to easy the process ………….

It’s Time To Clean House A Bit

How to Tame a Cougar

By Dee Carney

Siren-Bookstrand, Inc.

Blurb:

Shawna never tried to deny the attraction to her young Greek coworker, Damian. Intensely handsome with a heavy accent, he is the object of her fantasies. It’s no wonder when he mistakenly overhears her call his name while masturbating, he decides it’s time to ignore the age difference she shies away from.

Getting her to fall for his seduction takes on a slight challenge when they realize their age difference is even bigger than they both first assumed. It’s not going to be a problem, though. So long as she keeps that spark in her eyes when she looks at him, he knows just how to tame a cougar.

Review:

How to Tame a Cougar is not your typical May/December story. Ms. Carney is a true wizard of the written word, weaving a tale that has me feeling the characters dreams and emotions and then laughing until my sides hurt.

Talk about laughing until you cry. I know I did right from the first page. I could feel Shawna’s age as her back screamed from lifting Mrs. McDermott out of the wheelchair but then the loose bladder happened and I couldn’t stop laughing. This is how the entire story is woven. I could picture every scene as it happened and kept pulling for Damien to break through Shawna’s barriers regarding their ages.

The characters in the story were incredibly realistic. I could see myself in the character of Shawna since I am also in the cougar age bracket, some aches and worried about what looks proper. I have a friend just like Ashlee who pushed Shawna to open her eyes regarding Damien. But it was the character of Damien who I loved the most. His perseverance in breaking down Shawna’s barriers and willingness to do whatever she wanted to assure their happiness showed me a maturity that many older men lack.

I found How To Tame a Cougar to be not only a sexy, hot story but one that is hilarious also. I know I’ll be rereading this short again and again. Kudos Ms. Carney for another winner.

By Lexie Davis

Siren Publishing

Blurb: Jenny Myers is counting down the days until her sister gets married. Having lived with her since Shelly graduated college, she’s in desperate need for her own space.

The wedding is set for Christmas Day and Jenny is the maid of honor. She forgets to plan the bachelorette party and cold-calls four of her friends, neighbors and relatives to attend. But in the middle of planning the forgotten event, Dane McKenzie, the best man and brother to the groom, interrupts.

Sexual sparks fly every time Dane sees Jenny. He’s an ex-marine turned businessman with a frivolous taste in women yet Jenny Myers stops him cold. He wants her, has wanted her from the time they met, six months ago at his brother’s engagement party. And when he sees her sprawled out in the floor, planning a bachelorette party for her snotty sister that doesn’t deserve it, he sees the perfect opportunity. After all, Christmas is the season for giving and with the sex toys all around, Dane plans to give Jenny anything and everything she wants.

Review: I found a special present from Santa that was delivered after Christmas. Toys From Santa was a delightful story that kept me smiling from start to finish. From a Bridezilla to a west coast sex toy distributor, the story read like a well scripted movie.

Jenny Myers is the sister of the bride. The good girl who always does what is expected of her from her job to her boyfriends. I get the feeling that Jenny would like to be bad once in a while. Her opportunity comes with the appearance of Dane McKenzie, the groom’s brother, on her doorstep. I love how she plans a last minute bachelorette party on Christmas Eve.

I got the impression that Dane McKenzie is the epitome of a bad boy. I don’t think he really is but the whole explanation of Shelley’s pictures and why Dane calls her Shutterbug was not only hilarious but could convince some that he really is bad. Dane proves that he really is good when he saves the wedding.

Shawn McKenzie is a very minor character but his fiancé’ AKA Bridzilla AKA Shelley Myers is hilarious. Her bachelorette party, sex toy sales and just her general self-centeredness all add to make the story a very funny read.

Toys From Santa reminded me of a humorous chick flick with some sizzling hot sex scenes. I definitely would recommend putting this book in your stocking no matter what time of year it is.

By Jade James

Loose Id, LLC

Blurb: Jolie Amato loses her most prized possession; her private journal. It’s filled with dark, carnal fantasies, she’s never revealed to anyone. Finding the right person to explore her dreams with has proven impossible. But she may have finally hit the jackpot, when she awakens bound to her bed.

While walking out of the gated community where he resides, Detective Mac Dumont stumbles upon a diary with no name of ownership on the outside. Trying to discover the owner to return it, he opens the journal and begins to read…and falls head over heels in lust with Jolie. A dominant looking to take charge of the right woman, he has no problem giving life to her naughtiest dreams.

Review: The alarms are blaring, you try to open your eyes to shut them off but find you are bound and blindfolded. What do you do when you think a madman is in your bedroom? That is what happens to Jolie on her third day of vacation.

Jolie Amato is a thirty year old, beautiful woman who confides everything she ever wishes she could experience not only to her best friend, Brianne, but also writes it all in her diary. Unfortunately, Jolie loses her diary on the very day she starts her two week vacation. I loved how Jolie experienced lust at first sight and wanted to talk to her neighbor but chickens out at the last minute. I could envision people doing just that in apartment buildings. A look, a longing glance, then the fear of rejection sets in and you turn away.

Detective Mac Dumont is Jolie’s sexy neighbor who is also a Dominant. Mac is very interested in Jolie but is also afraid that she may reject him. I could not believe what Mac did when he found Jolie’s diary. The step by step plan that he followed at first had my heart pounding in my chest. I think his being a police officer aided Mac in his quest to conquer Jolie.

The story was fast paced, from the letter Mac left to the fantasy fulfillments over a four month period. I thought it was funny when Jolie decided to go man hunting after Mac and loved the whole scene at the station house. The way Mac and Jolie kept reassuring the other throughout the story making sure that each fantasy was what they wanted showed me the depth of feeling they had for each other.

Clint McIntyre as Mac’s partner and Jolie’s friend, Brianne, significantly added to the storyline and left me with the possibility of a story of their own.

I think that Naughty Fantasies gives one hope that wishes really do come true.

By J.M. Cornwell

L & L Dreamspell Publishing

Blurb:

Devastated by love and nearly killed in a car crash, Lynn Sanderson disappeared, returning five years later with a new name, a new face, and a plan…
Adrian Cahill didn’t realize his ideal woman, his soul mate, was right in front of him, so Lynn walked away from their stagnant relationship.

She had no idea she’d soon be involved in a near-fatal crash that would change her appearance and leave her haunted with nightmares of accidents and death. No longer the same person, Lynn took on another girl’s name and carved out a new identity.

While recuperating from reconstructive surgery, she bought a run-down cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania. With the help of local handyman John Logan she brought the structure back to life, turning it into a wonderful retreat. He also helped her remodel an abandoned factory near Bolton air field in Columbus, Ohio. Over the years the two became close friends, though Logan remained a mystery, never revealing much about his personal life or his past.

After five years and in her new incarnation as Diana, Lynn made up her mind to go back for the man who rejected her, and goad him into chasing her until she catches him. Could she create a new ending for an imperfect past?

And how will Logan, her mysterious mountain man, feel about losing his best friend?

***

Sir Walter Scott said it best in Marmion, Canto VI, Stanza 17, “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.” And what a tangled story I found Past Imperfect to be. There are stories and lives that are intertwined from beginning to end.

Lynn Sanderson/Diana Palmer struck me as a very tragic heroine. To expect something from your significant other only to realize that they don’t even notice who you are followed by a horrific accident. Then what she had to do to overcome her injuries had me pulling for her to make it. But there were times I was yelling in my head for Lynn/Diana to open her eyes and see what was in front of her face. I bothered me a lot that Lynn/Diana was so single minded on recapturing the past. I could understand if she was out for revenge but I felt that she was doing it for a twisted type of love she had for Adrian.

I didn’t like the character of Adrian Cahill. He seemed like a player to me. I didn’t think he could truly care for anyone. The only time he was interested in Lynn/Diana was when she followed her plan and showed no interest in him. Adrian then had to work to catch her. When he changed his house and ways for Lynn/Diana, I was in a state of shock. Could he have found his heart after all? I was on the edge of my seat as I tried to decide who I should pull for.

The character of John Logan as Lynn/Diana’s handyman, friend, sounding board and shoulder to lean on, took me by surprise. After five years together, suddenly John is afraid of losing Lynn/Diana. The things that he did for Lynn/Diana had me wondering if he wanted to take their friendship to another level. I was surprised at how John manipulated so many things without anyone knowing. Then when he revealed another secret, you could have picked me up off the floor.

There was another main character, Jack, her agent. Jack also cares about Lynn/Diana and has known everything that has happened to her. Jack does a few manipulations of his own to help Lynn/Diana realize what it is she really wants from life.

Past Imperfect, in my humble opinion, was not perfect but it was a very good story with many twists and turns. The twisted minds and manipulations of some of the characters made Past Imperfect a darker romance than what I was expecting but I still had fun yelling at them in my mind.

Blurb:

Being bad always gets more press than being good.

Women’s pro basketball star, Taryn Belle scores baskets on the court and conquests off the court. Her reputation as the baddest of bad girls garners major publicity for women’s sports. Cody Brickman, a hotshot quarterback with a wild streak, falls prey to one of Taryn’s promotion schemes, and she falls prey to a night in his bed.

Cody suspects her bad girl image is an elaborate ruse fueled by a string of carefully crafted publicity stunts, especially after she publicly slams his sexual prowess. He backs Taryn into a corner until the only way out is to play the part she’s created by showing Cody how bad she can be. Jerome, Taryn’s long-time admirer and Cody’s teammate, will take Taryn any way he can get her, even if it means sharing.

How far will a girl go to publicize the sport she loves and maintain her bad girl reputation in a game where the winner takes all?

Inequality of the sexes in sports, salaries and publicity is not what I would think would be material for a romance story but I am wrong. I have to warn you that Winner Takes All is a very hot, very steamy, and extremely sexy story when all those things are combined..

Taryn Belle is a six foot one female basketball player. When I think of sports stars, most are pretty clean cut. Not so our Taryn. She is the epitome of the “bad boy” image. She’s been on the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, posed for Playboy magazine and been fodder for all the rags. Little does anyone know that this is the way she raises money for her charities since female salaries are significantly lower than male salaries. Taryn unfortunately picks on the male “bad boy” of basketball to pull her next money raising stunt.

Cody “The Brick” Brickman believes everything he reads about Taryn and is more than happy to go with her wherever she may lead. I knew he had Taryn confused when he made her lose control not only on the dance floor but in the limo as well. At six foot six, Cody thinks he is more than a match for Taryn until the newspaper reveals her tell-all.

The story moves very quickly. There are many deep facets to both Taryn and Cody that we slowly see as the story progresses. I loved how Taryn ripped down Cody just to build him up again with a pool table no less. There is a cute scene with Viagra comments that eventually leads to a sizzling three way. And what can I say about her fantasy list except keep a fan near by.

There were many sub characters that made this story a joy to read. I loved Levi, Mr. Conservative Cowboy. His use of a camera and other apparatus is amazing. Jerome is Taryn’s best buddy for the past ten years. His loyalty and willingness to do anything for her is shown throughout. But my all time favorite character is Boris. Nothing beat his nails in the chest among other things.

Winner Takes All is the first book in the Delectable Bad Boys Series. I can’t wait for the next book since I found Winner Takes All to be a winner in my book and I hope that you will agree.

Christmas is coming and I’m not ready.

It’s not for lack of trying. I just arrived home at 12:30am this morning. I’ve been away for many weeks and and still have huge messes to straighten out but I just go with my old stand-by… I’ll do it tomorrow… and I do mean it.

But for today, I thought I’d give everyone a little bit of seasonal eye candy.

Santa’s back. Ho Ho Ho.

A little present for you.

Mistletoe for your home.

And lots of good cheer.

Robyn Maxwell doesn’t care that her brother has to cancel out on their backcountry ski trip. She can do it alone. The fact she’s deaf doesn’t make her survival skills any weaker. The chance to get away from it all and relax in the Yukon wilderness is just what she’s been craving.

Meeting wilderness guide Keil at the cabin starts cravings of another kind. Keil’s one hot hunk of ripped, tasty male. Now she has to deal with raging hormones as well as strange questions about wolves and mates and challenges to the death.

Keil was trying for a nice reflective retreat before challenging for the Alpha position of his Alaskan pack. He wasn’t planning on meeting the woman destined to be his mate, or finding out she’s not aware she has the genes of a wolf.

Between dealing with his accident-prone younger brother, a deaf mate with an attitude and an impending duel to the death, his week—and his bed—is suddenly full.

Far from the relaxing getaway any of them had in mind…

Leave a comment for a chance to win a digital copy of Wolf Signs!

Noble Romance Publishing

You know what “they” say . . . . There are girls you don’t take home to mother. There are girls you don’t date on a serious basis. There are girls that are fun to be around, but that you never, ever consider for marriage. They’re not nice girls. They’re bad girls . . . and you should never fall in love with a bad girl.

Or so they say.

But if all that’s true, then what is it about bad girls that make good guys want them so very . . . badly?

Andrew is definitely a nice guy. He’s a hard-working, decent Christian fellow. Good with his hands, honest, honorable, and does the right thing by his family and his church.

Pathrusim is definitely a bad girl. About as unchristian as you can get, what with her being a demoness, straight from the pits of hell itself. She wants to wrap Andrew around her little finger, and enslave him for all eternity.

But what is it about Andrew that draws her to him? If she’s such a bad girl, why does she want so badly to have a . . . nice guy?”

What do Bible verses, a guardian angel, a demon and Aunt Jemima have in common? I found out in this unique story about a succubus and a virgin.

Andrew is a single, upstanding citizen and a devote churchgoer. He also tries to help where he is needed which leads to how he meets Patti. Andrew saves the demon in distress from two men who were attacking her. Unfortunately, the men were demon hunters and Andrew has saved a very bad girl. Andrew now makes it his mission, per his minister, to redeem Patti. I had tears running down my eyes as Andrew’s two heads kept a running conversation with each other throughout the story.

Pathrusium is a succubus who always tells the truth. Weather she is a girl scout, a French maid, the girl next-door or even Aunt Jemima, Patti tries to make Andrew’s dreams come true. When Andrew saved Patti’s other client and agreed to do anything to make her happy. It was like watching a child as she played video games with Andrew. I could feel my heart expanding with the love Patti had for him.

There were a few cute scenes with Dannah, a guardian angel; Aaron, the minister; and even Andrew’s parents. I also loved Malik and his endeavors to try to take Pathrusim away with him.

Don’t let the Bible quotes at the beginning of each chapter throw you. They are well research and fitting to the storyline and chapter they precede. Goods Guys Deserve Bad Girls shows me that there really are good guys out there and I think you’ll agree that not all bad girls are really that bad.

Ravenous Romance

Blurb:

DILF’s. They’re everywhere. That hot director, the guy next door, your old hockey coach, even your own husband?. Gay and straight and even bi. You’ll find 13 stories of hot dads in these sizzling pages, from spy dads to a dad who has a thing for orgies! We promise that after reading HOT DADS! you will never look at that hunky guy in the business suit and the wedding ring the same way again!

Review:

Hot Dads: The DILF Anthology has something for everyone. From May December relationships with dads and their son’s and daughter’s friends and female dad’s and their daughter’s female teachers to new dad’s and the woman who lend them assistance, there is sure to be a dad you’ll like to read about.

My favorite story was Taking Chances by Savannah Chase. I found it to be a very simple love story. Ben finds out he is a father to baby Emma. There is some deviousness and tragedy regarding Emma’s mother, Jane. I loved the character of Laura. She reminded me of the typical girl next door who is always there to lend a hand no matter what you need. Even last minuet, Laura just hops in the car for an overnight trip to help Ben care for Emma. Their interactions throughout the story had me wishing for a man like Ben for my very own.

I found The Penalty Shot to be a very eye opening story of a father’s love for his son and the quest for understanding. The story takes a major turn that I did not see coming when Coach Don Jansen seeks out Greg Miller, his deceased son’s friend for information about his son’s life after high school. The depth of need that Coach Jansen had to discover the truth was very moving for me.

Four Things About a Father was a very insightful look at a mother and her daughter and a father and his son. I loved how each point, starting with his voice and ending with his face, was introduced and then the story was woven with each point from the mother’s viewpoint. The story tells of their struggles to juggle sitters, dating and more over several months time.

I could go on in detail about each of the thirteen wonderful stories contained in this anthology but I don’t want to ruin the joy of discovering a dad for yourself. There is a virtual smorgasbord of DILF’s from which to choose. I know there were quite a few DILF’s I liked and I hope you’ll agree.
