It’s been a long time since Renee and her two friends have gotten together for a girl’s night in. What could possibly be more fun than drinking margaritas, gossiping about their recent bed-partners, and playing drunken rounds of Twister until they all pass out? But when Mina shows up toting a bottle of Jose Cuervo Gold in one arm, and a strange game named Erotikos in the other, the girls’ evening is about to get a lot more interesting.

Even before they remove the contents, Renee senses something amiss. This is no ordinary game. Erotikos promises pleasures galore and adventures filled with sexual delight. But how can a cardboard pastime with its small stack of cards, two oddly marked die, and eight pewter men accomplish all this?

After reading the instructions, the girls select their character pieces–an Indian, a selkie, and a vampire. Three men of varying backgrounds, but all sexy as sin and tantalizing to the eye. With a roll of the dice, the game begins, and the three women soon find themselves pulled into a place where their wildest fantasies come to life…

Can hot steamy chocolate and warm vanilla mix or are they separate? Never the two to twine? Is it time for a nice treat or is it only a trick, a slight of the hand?

Clare’s ex-fiancé treated her like a queen: he was kind, attentive to her needs in bed and b-o-r-i-n-g. He never made her do what she wanted him to make her do.

From the moment Clare sets eyes on David at a Halloween party, her hormones go wild with desire. His arrogant smile promises something darker, deeper and more intense. He is Trouble – with a big, big T. And yet, the mistake of letting him would be even bigger.

David believes love is not worth the pain it brings, no matter how divine Clare looks in her goddess costume. To him, she is just a rich white girl bored of vanilla sex, and he is happy to show her a good time.

So why does he melt inside every time their eyes meet?

Destiny waits for all… especially a headstrong princess.

Royal blood can take a princess only so far in life. Sooner or later destiny will sweep her off her feet. If she’s lucky, he’s tall, blond, fun to push around, and helps her save their ice ball planet from a killer comet.

I thought this was a pretty good book. It reminded me a little of the old Flash Gorden movies and the planet Frigia. Nordia is an ice planet where everything is white and cold. Noreen is the older twin Princess and also The Profetia who is destined to marry the One and conceive the first male heir.

When Serena Adams collided with a gorgeous young stranger on a crowded subway, nothing could have prepared her for the hottest ride of her life… Serena gets more than she bargained for when her ordinary morning commute turns into an erotic encounter with a much younger man able to excite her with the merest touch. Later that morning, Serena’s prospective new client turns out to be her El train stranger and she can’t believe her misfortune. If she can’t ride the rails without wanting to devour him, how will she manage to work with him professionally? Julian St. Claire believed he would never see the beautiful woman from the El again. However, this turns out to be his lucky day when she falls into his lap hours later. Never one to back down from a challenge, he pursues the sexy siren, despite her protests about their age difference. The way Julian sees it, age is no match for undeniable chemistry. Can the two sort our their differences to enjoy the physical attraction they discovered…riding the rail?

I enjoyed this delightful story about an older woman and younger man in Chicago. I was happy that Ms. Devlin wrote about the subjects she knew, Chicago and management consultants, as it made the story that much more enjoyable. The details of the city with the El trains and how they do go underground on  several of the lines and that there is an El stop at Clark and Lake Streets. Also her knowledge of management consultations showed in the story with Serena’s meetings with Julian and Ryan. All these little things made the story much more enjoyable for me.

Tessa Aden has it all…a great job, good friends, and a fantastic boyfriend. She just has one problem, she’s never had an orgasm during sex. When Zac misinterprets an Instant Message from a friend as a complaint about his technique in the bedroom, she’d rather let him walk away than admit her dark desires.

Fearing she wouldn’t understand his dominant nature, Zac Shandler gave up the BDSM lifestyle to be a part of Tessa’s vanilla life. Yet he seems to be losing her anyway. Will Zac put his heart on the line to claim Tessa’s love and finally force her to reveal the secret she keeps?

BDSM is a lifestyle that is based on mutual trust. It is often misunderstood and one that people are at times, ashamed of. That is the case in this story. Tessa needs more but having been considered strange by a previous boyfriend, she is afraid to voice what she wants. Zac, a dom, is afraid to be himself as it has driven off a previous girlfriend and he does not want it to happen again with Tessa.

A Man She Couldn't ForgetA Man She Couldn’t Forget  by Kathryn Shay

Harlequin Romance

Clare Boneli has felt like a stranger to herself ever since the night an accident took her memory. The night she made a choice between two very different men.

Both Brady Langston and Jonathan Harris are good men. But their versions of her are so opposite, it’s as if she’s two different people. One man holds her career future and one man seems to hold her heart. Because when she’s with Brady everything feels so true, so right. As she moves closer to the truth about that fateful night, Clare has to choose again. To stick with the life she’s made for herself. Or listen to what her heart’s been trying to tell her…

What a fantastic book. I found myself throughly engrossed by the story in A Man She Couldn’t Forget. As I read, I kept thinking about the television show Samantha Who? and her retrograde amnesia along with the movie Regarding Henry which the book refers to. Ms Shay did a fabulous job of research when it came to her subject matter. Not only about the subject of amnesia but also in regard to the recipes used as Clare cooked.

Terri Smythe, a transplanted New Yorker, is trying to find her feet in Kansas City. After an emergency “save-me-before-I-slit-my-wrists-from- boredom” visit from her best friends, and a shopping spree at Madam Periwinkle’s Erotic Delights, a Magic 8-Ball sets her off on an adventure of a lifetime.

That adventure has one name — Niko. He’s a gorgeous. He’s strong. He’s bold.

He’s also a vampire.

I like the character of Terri Smythe. I thought she was a serious woman trying her best to make a new life for herself. She is studying to be a doctor and leaves everything she knows to move to Kansas City where she can afford to study medicine. This is how she works in the morgue. I thought it was the classic horror movie scene. Working on a dead body but the body isn’t really dead. Or is it? The whole time in the morgue was beautifully written. I could actually feel the vapor in the air and the heat when Niko and Terri first touch was incredible. I felt Terri was like a bulldog in that she never gives up when she is looking for Niko. Her Magic 8-Ball was a stitch. I had a smile on my face every time she would use it.

Eve Brennan’s life sucks.  Tendonitis is crippling her Broadway career and her fiancé left her for a woman half his age. Thankfully, Eve’s best friend has the brilliant idea that all she needs to jump start her life is the gorgeous young cowboy from down the hall and a broken elevator.

Shay Douglas can’t believe his luck when his apartment elevator breaks down, leaving him alone with his sexy next door neighbor. Shay seizes the opportunity to prove he’s no greenhorn and give Eve the ride of her life via vertical climax.

Vertical Climax was everything I was looking for in a seriously hot short story.  It told the tale of Eve, an aging, out of work dancer and Shay, a young Texas cobbler. What I really liked about the story was that it didn’t go for forever; it gave me the story of now and the possibility of the future.
