That is where you’ll find the final polished, edited review that I submitted to them for this book.  What I have on my page is my version I submitted to them and they looked at, maybe edited, maybe polished up and put up on their site. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused by my lack of understanding. I hope by providing this link, to correct this grievous error on my part.

RidingTheRail 3.00Riding The Rail  by Julia Devlin

The Wild Rose Press

When Serena Adams collided with a gorgeous young stranger on a crowded subway, nothing could have prepared her for the hottest ride of her life… Serena gets more than she bargained for when her ordinary morning commute turns into an erotic encounter with a much younger man able to excite her with the merest touch. Later that morning, Serena’s prospective new client turns out to be her El train stranger and she can’t believe her misfortune. If she can’t ride the rails without wanting to devour him, how will she manage to work with him professionally? Julian St. Claire believed he would never see the beautiful woman from the El again. However, this turns out to be his lucky day when she falls into his lap hours later. Never one to back down from a challenge, he pursues the sexy siren, despite her protests about their age difference. The way Julian sees it, age is no match for undeniable chemistry. Can the two sort our their differences to enjoy the physical attraction they discovered…riding the rail?

I enjoyed this delightful story about an older woman and younger man in Chicago. I was happy that Ms. Devlin wrote about the subjects she knew, Chicago and management consultants, as it made the story that much more enjoyable. The details of the city with the El trains and how they do go underground on  several of the lines and that there is an El stop at Clark and Lake Streets. Also her knowledge of management consultations showed in the story with Serena’s meetings with Julian and Ryan. All these little things made the story much more enjoyable for me.

Thrust into her life one night by peculiar circumstances, Loretta Bishop, seventeen years Bobby’s senior, has been tasked with taking the shy, modest pretty boy under her wing and turning him into a lady’s man. Free spirited and sexually adventurous, Loretta is eminently qualified to teach him the elements of pursuit, seduction, and how to please women.

At first, being with Bobby seems like a dream, but clouds begin to gather from Loretta’s spotty and sometime sordid past. Feeling guilt after Bobby asks to marry her, Loretta is no longer able to continue and runs away.

Now, it’s up to Bobby to put the methods Loretta has taught him to practical use. Will he succeed and parlay his new talents into love, wealth, and power?

I was amazed at the depth of this story. It told the tale of four different people in explicate detail and   sketched the stories of two more couples. All the characters in some way or another had their lives touched by Loretta Bishop. I will say that the story is told in the first person from three different people and it is told in the present with continuous flashbacks to several different time periods in the past. I had no problem switching back and forth between characters and time periods.

Changeling Press

Once a prisoner of the Tai-Jor, ex-Colonel Dana Tangier now teaches recruits how to negotiate with the complex society where only couples are treated with dignity. When a female trainee falls ill and there’s a Tai-Jor mission on the line, Dana must find a replacement fast or risk her life by returning to the place she’d sworn never to go again.

Lt. Gavin Moore has idolized war-hero Dana Tangier since his youth. Now he has a chance to work side-by-side with her and his libido is doing somersaults. Despite their age difference, convincing the Tai-Jor that Tangier is his lover shouldn’t be a problem, but is he strong enough to protect her from her past?

Back in Action is the story of a forty-four year old retired war-hero and a twenty-seven year old soldier. Dana and Gavin find themselves on a mission to save General Hamm and ultimately keep peace between several planets. The story moves at a good pace but the real story is the romance between Dana and Gavin.
