Snowfire: Party Favors  by Selena Illyria

Changeling Press

Nevada has been working so hard she’s exhausted. Lucian is determined to get her to rest — even if he has to kidnap her and tie her to the bed to do it.

I found Snowfire:Party Favors to be a very small slice of life that left me wanting more.

Lucian is a poor neglected vampire who I think cares greatly for his partner Nevada. I felt bad for him as he needed his partner but she was too busy with work to spend time with him or his family. Lucian’s love for Nevada shows when he plans an elaborate kidnapping scheme to whisk Nevada away for the rest she needs.

Nevada seems to realize that she was pushing aside Lucian and tries to make amends but Lucian is already gone. I thought it was telling that her exhaustion was so excessive that she never woke up through the entire kidnapping. I did find it cute that Nevada turned things around in the story. I thought it showed that she was more than just a workaholic.

I found the Valentine’s surprise that Lucian planned very hot. I wanted to know more about both Lucian and Nevada and the two weeks that he had planned for them.

I recommend Snowfire: Party Favors for a very quick read and I hope to read more of both Lucian and Nevada and their life together in future stories.

Stacia Allen loves her job and has no desire to lose it. But she’s been “friends with benefits” with Jason Montano for months… and he’s her boss. And now he says he wants to “talk” about their arrangement.

Jason has a confession to make. He’s in love with Stacia… and he’s a telepath. To even the playing field, he plans to give her a family heirloom that will let her read his mind in return and also see images he projects. Oh, the sexy possibilities!

The mind is a powerful thing and it is all so true in this delightful story of telepaths and mental sex. Ms. Illyria creates the fascinating world of Orion Delta 5 set in the future. The details of the planet, from hover crafts to a blue-purple skies have me believing I was residing on Orion Delta 5.

Part werewolf, part incubi and determined to get their mate, Robin, Lochlan and Rorick Montgomery have finally found the woman they want to be with. Now all they have to do is convince her she’s the one for them.

After a night of hot sex, Robin is trying to run from the two men who she loves and can break her heart. She tries to hide with Iain and Katherine, but she can’t ignore her feelings and desires for the twins.
Robin, Lochlan and Rorick are on a collision course with passionate results.

Werewolves, incubi and twins to boot. What a wonderful combination. This third story in the Tartan Werewolf Series had me panting for Rorick and Lochlan Montgomery from the first sentence. Each story can stand alone but to learn more about the characters mentioned in this third story, I highly recommend reading the other in this fascinating series.

Iain just wanted someone to help take the edge off before the full moon rose in a few days. When he met Katherine in the pub he felt he had found the perfect person to help him with his problem. Katherine could not resist the kilted stranger who caught her eye at the bar. When he offered her a night of hot sex she couldn’t say no. But what happens when she finds out that the stranger is her boss’s son?

Tartan Surprise was just that. A very pleasant surprise. Being a short story, I was surprised at how involved I became with the characters. I was so involved with the characters that I found myself laughing out loud as they bantered with one another in the alley regarding Iain’s name and shivering when Iain growls out commands to Katherine. Iain and Katherine’s conversations were very well written. I have even used some of those lines myself. Ms. Illyria’s book is so well written, I felt everything that Iain did to Katherine and could place myself in each scene.

We learn a little about the pack, Artair O’Keefe and his sons, Conall and Iain and the pack Agatha(Conall’s wife) is from but due to the story length, it is sketchy. This story left me wanting to read more about Iain and Katherine, their future life together and that of the packs. I know I’ll be on the look out to hear more about them.
